About the Project

Project Partners
The project is implemented by the 4th Health District of Macedonia-Thrace in cooperation with the Municipality of Kalamaria, the Institute for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease St.Stefan Ohrid and the Public Health Institution Health Home Ohrid.

Health Actions
Training of citizens and medical staff of the Municipalities of Kalamaria & Ohrid in Basic Life Support (BLS) and in Intermediate Life Support (ILS). Upgrade of medical equipment for 8 Health Units in Thessaloniki and Ohrid. Installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in key locations.

Impact
The project aims at improving the preventive health care and social services and focus to the effective out-of-hospital management of cardiac arrest victims, as well as incidents requiring provision of first aid, within the urban area.

Budget
The total budget of the project is 1,231,160.94€, being co-funded by the European Union and by national funds of the countries participating in the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme CCI 2014 TC 16 I5CB 009.

Duration
The total duration of the project is 24 months. The project started on 2nd April 2018 and is expected to finish on 1st April 2020.
